My dad made the die that forms that grille (Chevrolet Flint Manufacturing, Pressed Metal Division).
They had a lot of trouble with the rectangular punches breaking off, running a bunch of scrap before anyone would notice. Back then you could submit a suggestion as part of the "Suggestion Award Program" and get money if your idea was adopted. He made enough money from suggestion awards just on that grille to pay cash for our '69 GMC pickup. K
