Nice '63 - seller indicates this one was repainted in lacquer back in 1977, and had a later body off restoration. Bidding is already at $100k with 9 days left in the auction.

Interesting stamp with a "S" in place of the leading "3".
My thoughts-- 1) That stamp could possibly be real, but without a CCAS certificate, it's radioactive. If the car was restored in 1991, the state of the art on restamps wasn't what it is now, and I'd expect the rest of it to scream "restamp" 2) Had a front clip put on it at some time (this VIN should have 4 hood wedges). 3) Appears to have a complete OEM air cleaner, which is really nice. At the current bid of $150K, it's still below what clones are bringing on BaT |
