Hi guys. I just recently bought a 69 Z/28 (X33 Lemans blue/ standard blue interior, blue light stereo, rear defrost, m21, cowl hood) The car has no motor in it. trans partial vin stamp matches the car vin, orig. BE rear. <font color="red"> My question is this; What is the range of engine block build dates this car would have came with from the factory?</font color> I just want the car to be as original as possible. thanks in advance for any help! tommy

You will need to research the ID number of the vehicle for approximate build date along with the trim tag and assembly location of the vehicle. The block casting date will need to proceed the build date of the car (not necessarly the body) and the engine assembly date will need to be after the casting date of the block. It could be from one day to four weeks for a Z28 DZ block.
There are lots of factors involved. |

If it helps.. I believe the casting date on mine is B69 (is kind of hard to read) and the stamp is VO211DZ. My car is an 02B per the trim tag.
