Default HOT ROD subscribers beware!!!!

I just found out that HOT ROD magazine comes in 2 different varieties, and that the magazine you see on the newsstand is different than the one the subscribers get! And get who's issue is thinner: the subscriber's!

I found out on the Pure Stock/Stock Appearing site, as there was supposed to be coverage of a stock appearing race, but some people couldn't find it, even though they were checking the same issue. Anyway, kind of a crappy deal, but you can read all about it HERE.

.... and yet another proud moment for Primedia! First they kill MCR and give me Hot Rod as a replacement, only to find its a thinner econo version. My renewal just went in the garbage!

D@m monopolies! Every industry is turning into no competition with 1 or 2 big companies taking control of the market. Then their product turns into cr@p and they lay off half the work force. Can you get Tom Shaw's magazine in the stores yet or is it only by subscription right now?

Rob
Hot Rod makes more money if you buy it at the cover price from the newstand. It is almost to the point I can't stomach any of the car mags anyway. It begins with their use of crude language-which anymore seems like each mag tries to out do each other. One reader in last months Car Craft(it was a gift subscription from a friend) said he takes CC to the bathroom to read and uses Hot Rod to wipe is you know what. Can you imagine some of the great past editors such as Ray Brock, Bob Greene, Wally Parks, Don Evans allowing this type of language? I sure do miss MCR, Musclecar Classics, Guide to Musclecars, Musclecars of the '60& '70's. I don't think anyone of us appreciated what we had a short 10 years ago.

Tom was at the Pure Stock Drags in Michigan two weeks ago. 90% done and had it all to show us. Amazing stuff! Quality of pictures was second to none. He honestly thinks 30 days and it will be shipped out. Be patient (as you already have been), you will not be disappointed!!!
