Default My 1970 LT1 vette

Just ran across my sales reciept for Daytona yellow 70 LT1 I bought new at Central Chev. in Atlanta. Mfg I.D. # 1943705401586 (hand written by a salesman with poor handwriting skills!)

The car cost $5,309 plus $447.65 for the LT1 motor. No A/C, power brakes or power steering. Radio AM/FM was$172.75. Tilt wheel - $14.30. Wheel cover $58.95 (almost illegible). Tires - $33.15. Drive out - $6,104.80.

I find it interesting that that is just about the same price as a C5R block today!!!

I also found a poster that came with the car. 8X18" (folded twice)with the words WELCOME TO "TEAM CORVETTE" and a great drawing of the LT1. There was at one time a "Corvette owner identification" card attached.

I kept that car about 2 years. Never ran worth a crap. Finally took it to Lamar Walden and he got it running pretty good. As far as I know this is the only Chev. to come oe with a Holley 3 barrell. 950 cfm.
