Default Lift Me Up

4 of us in our local Corvette club want to each get a lift. We all have the same basic requirements:

1. be able to drive on it with a LOW vehicle
2. be able to drop a transmission
3. be able to remove the wheels

two of us also want to be able to store another vehicle underneath the other car.

We would like a discount for purchasing 4 from the same place.

Any recommendations?

Dave,

I just arranged a group purchase with Superior www.superlifts.com .If you call them (ask for Phil) and mention my name, Mark Kane, and the Corvette group purchase they'll let you in on the same deal and you'll save about $500 each. You get the SR7H lift, caster kit, aluminum ramps, 3 drip trays, oil change canister, jacking tray and delivery for $3,250. I ordered mine 3 weeks ago or so and should recieve it this week. I'll post pics once I get it set up. Hope this helps

Djunod,
Are you wanting a two post design or four post design. I have both and can tell you the two post design is a much better mechanic tool than the other. Ita also a fantastic lift for undercarrage detail work and cleaning feature. The 4-post drive on design does not lend itself to this feature very well.
I have as many as three two posts lifts coming. There slightly used and I hope to have them here soon. They were recovered from a shop that had some fire damage and the insurance company bought the company out in full. These lifts were not damaged in the fire. I will be selling one of them if your interested. Thanks

I recomend Mohawk Lifts. I have 2 of them in my garage. One is a 4 post lift used for storage, (below and on top) and the other is a 2 post lift used for tinkering with the cars. There is enough room on the 4 post lift to drop a tranny but it is much easier to do so on the 2 post -- 4 prong lift. I have the number somewhere around here. I'll post it a little later.

I worry about using a 2 post lift on a unibody car such as my '68 Camaro.

I think I'm going to do the four post, so that I can safely store another car below it.

Thanks for all the info!
