If I understand correctly, the only 67 Chevelles that received 396 engines at the factory were SS396 coupes and convertibles. The factory did not produce any 2 door sedans with the big block. However, I have heard a story about Baldwin Motion ordering some 300 series base 2 door sedans and putting either L78 396 crate motors or L78 "dealer removed" engines in these cars. Is there any truth to this story? Thanks, Marc

The only '67 BM Chevelle I have seen started life as an SS 396-375hp and then received an L-89 (AL Head 427-425hp). I have heard only 7 were built and only one survives. Take that for what it's worth.
