Default 69 chevelle heater delete

I have a nice 69 300 deluxe that I want to use to create my own version of a factory muscle car. I would like to remove the heating system and use a GM heater delete set up. I haad seen one 2 years ago but was WAY out of my price range. If anyone has any leads it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Albert.....Why do you want to chop up my old fathom green 69? That is one of the cleanest heater assemblies you'll ever see. Only 33,000 miles on that old girl. Treat it nice!!!!!!Kevin

Belair, if I find it the system is yours. I don't know if cars sold in the US were available with heater delete. I remember a thread here long ago about Camaro's with heater delete and how it was only available outside the US. We'll have to wait and see if anything pops up. Thanks.

Albert, as a side note..........

Yes, US cars received heater deletes. They seemed to be more common in the warmer southern states such as Florida and Texas where a heater is not really needed.

Conversely, cars that went to colder northern states and Canada, received more factory installed engine block heaters.

Just an observation I've made over the years.

1969 cars received them if they were exported or sent to Hawaii. If the car was ordered as a full race car it could have been received as a Heater Delete car also. If sold through a dearler on the mainland the car would ahve been converted by the dealer and not optioned that was from the factory.

Fed Laws requiring Heater/defrosters went into effect Jan 1968 so some of the 68 Camaros/Chevelles got the delete plates while others did not. I have 3 cars here that all have the delete plates and a 4th that will ahve the heater removed and plates installed.
