Just dropped the tank on a 69 and the build sheet is still there in good shape. Looks like they were glued in the middle or something. Anyone know the secret of removing them without destroying them?????

I just work very slowly with new razor blades. Ending up with galvanizing on the back of the sheet.

COPO Pete,
-------STOP! Its only stuck on the tank once and should stay there. Its the ultimate way to prove that the build-sheet is indeed original. Very correct new tanks are available from a company called Quanta. They arent even that much. Pop for one and you wont have to worry about whats in the old tank either. And at shows the whole tank with the sticker still stuck to it makes a hell of a display. Solves way more problems than it creates as you dont take the chance of destroying it either!..............Bill S |

So if left on, would it be OK to put a clear sealer over it to prevent it from getting worse if the tank is re-installed???

Boy is that a new looking sheet? The one off my 45,000 mi 69 Baldwin car is yellowed and very fragile. All of the tank stickers I have seen are yellowed like mine. There was a layer of dirt that made it unreadable till I dusted it off. I have seen them go blank when you try to dust off the dirt to be able to read them.
Yours is the first one I have ever seen to be such a light color? Wonder why? Is it off a car that was not out in the weather ever! If you do get it off be sure to transfer it to a clean sheet of white cardboard and then put it in a plastic file folder cover to protect it.
