Was doing my weekly search on E-Bay for "Yenko" when I noticed some "New Reproduction "YENKO" License Plate Frames"
for sale. I've seen these before and never paid much attention to them. I figured some slickster was having them made up in Taiwan for sale to suckers here in the states. Recently I saw a set sell for OVER $100!!! Now I'm wondering if these actually DID exist or if the suckers are getting super-sized on E-Bay??? Dep

The reproduction chrome Yenko plate frames have been around for a long time... they ARE actually repros of a plate frame that Yenko used in the supercar era, but as with most repro items, there are some obvious differences between an original and a repro...If someone got a pair of originals for 100.00 they stole them, if someone got 100.00 for a repro one, the seller did very well... At one time they were everywhere for about 15.00, I think they quit making them, so now going rate is usually around 30-35 each. I still see them for sale at about every major swap meet, and they come up on ebay pretty often too... I guess they're worth whatever anyone will pay for them, but I have seen them for sale in the 35 dollar range recently.

I figure the repro ones must cost all of about 5 bucks to stamp out in China. I wouldn't mind paying $30 for a pair. Anything above that is nuts
