Default POP Question

Was wondering if I could get a couple of expert opinions on the information from my 69 Chevelle's POP. Here it goes:

136379G344303 R
T0409JD CI0411B 4
P9D08 133 (Vert Chev Logo)

The tag is in fair shape, with rust and tarnishing. Also, so far all of the numbers seem to coincide with the stamped numbers on the material parts and the info from the partial buildsheet.

My question is the "R" for the carb notation. Shouldn't that be an "H" for the L78 in 1969. I know this stuff was hand done, but there weren't any Holleys made in Rochester were there?

The 133 lineup under I04 (CI04). By my research this means PB, Radio, DB. This would correspond with the second, third and fourth positions under the rear code.

The "R" code is the oddball that's buggin' me. Any help is appreciated as usual.

That "R" means Rochester, for Quadrajet.

I believe some of the yenko deuce POP's also have an R instead of an H. You are correct on the 133 interpretation.

Blair, if you go to this page on my website you should get the information you need. Good luck.

I remember when I was doing up my 69 Camaro RS/SS 350 several years ago and the POP was all correct except the same Carb code. I think it had a "C" instead of the "R". I contacted Jerry MacNeish about it and he mentioned a number of these were that way and apparently Carter made some Rochesters.

Quadrajet production was farmed out to everyone back then! My 02D-built Z11 has a Carter manufactured, Quadrajet on it.

Rochester built vs Carter built is still the right carb.

This is a error, should be an H.
Seen many on POP's. The 68 Z with an ME engine code and B carb code........... POP data was entered by humans, hence errors. The other paperwork and tags were computer generated.
