Default Rearend and Tranny Numbers

Hi Guys,
Due to forces WAY out of my control, I am going to have to sell my 69 LM1.
It is on ebay right now, Item 2479084746,

In any case, the CRG would like the numbers data off of the rear and tranny. I got under the car today and could not find the numbers on the drivers side shaft, on the underside. Was I looking in the wrong place?
Also, I have no idea on where to look on the tranny for the numbers. Please post where I can find this information.

Also, I have a 70 Cougar Eliminator 428CJ that is being painted right now. It is the only surviving competition green one and is in the registry and has a marti deluxe report. The interior needs recovering and the engine needs to be rebuilt. $12,000.00

Thanks,

Rich

Rich,
The axle tube is stamped on the passenger side, front or top. Don't know where the tranny is stamped..

trans numbers on pass side near top of case. there should be a number starting with P.... P=muncie then prod date. The vin stamp will be there also, a little hard to see. Should start 19..... letter code following the 9 is the assembly plant then last 6 of vin. there are also casting part #'s on the diff sections of the actual trans.hope this helps. for photos and more info go to Colvins boo chevy by the numbers.

Thanks,
I'll look tomarrow. Can you see the tranny numbers with it in the car? (especially the VIN)?

You can see them but you may have to jack up the car, have some degreaser and a rag and a good light. If your eyes are going like mine some magnifying specs may help.

Here's the axle # location. http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#RearAxleNumbers Can be hard to find, but once you find one digit, the rest are easy.

Trans is easy. Here's some pics of the location:

Thanks!!
