I just read that American Racing has released a new version of the original, "creased" spoke Torque Thrust five-spoke wheel. It's called the "TTO," or Torque Thrust Original, and so far it's available in 15x7 and 8.5, with a 5-inch on the way. Unlike the currently available "D" wheels with their curved spokes, the "TTO" has the straight spokes with the "crease," or peaked spokes. No more hunting on eBay for originals.

They are very original in apearance. I purchased a set back in February. raw finish on them, seems like they are gonna be tough to keep clean. But the spokes are straight and pointed very nice wheels!!!

I saw them, they are still a far cry from originals, and don't come in a size that looks right for a camaro IMO. The lip looks really "fat" on the 15x7's and i think they still use the new style center caps like the newer torq thrusts... A step in the right direction, but there's still no substitute for a sweet set of true "old-school" mags IMO.

I agree, if they made them in 15x6 i'd probably even buy a set... 15x7s look too wide to me, but thats just my opinion. I guess I just wish they would have actually recast wheels from the ORIGINAL molds, using the old smaller caps, and with the original type lips etc...they look better in photos than when you're looking at them in person..to me they still look like a "new" wheel...better than the modern torq thrust D, but not as cool as vintage ones... does that make any sense?

I only remember the chrome ones...
Here's a somewhat recent posting over at camaros.net... "American Racing Torque Thrust II. They are 17X8 in the rear, 17X7 in the front." ![]()

Bob, Having a tough time getting pics posted maybe send me your e-mail and I could try to send you a pic ... but anyhow they look much better in person than on the AMERICAN RACING WHEELS site. Those are computer generated or something? For sure nothing is better than original but they look great IMO.
