Default What a trip !

After having taken a last look at Rita and Billys RAV car Sunday morning, I drove up to Chicago to visit Tom Migut (Mr L-79). Monday he took me to some of his friends in the area.Among other cars, I got to see a -67 Z28, a -67 327 Chevy II, a -67 Nickey L-88 Camaro and a -69 Hugger orange Yenko Camaro. I appreciate that the owners spent so much time showing me the cars.
Then I drove to Cleveland, and on my way to the Niagara Falls I stopped in Ashtabula and said hello to Greg Korabek and his wife Angela. Take care both of you !
The falls was really something to see. I spent the afternoon and night there, and yesterday morning I got into the car again and drove down to New Britain in Connecticut. Now I will spend the next five days with a friend from Sweden living here.
I don`t understand it, but I haven`t got off at a wrong exit, not even once. But I guess I will screw up on the way to Washington.

Glad your having a ball! It was great to meet ya and chat in the pits. Next year when ya come to the SCR8, make sure you plan it so you can make the Pure Stock Drags in Michigan. Those two shows/races are the best in North America!

No kiddin, Anders! You should head back up and around to Michigan next weekend and check out a weekend of Pure Stock racing! It sounds like you're no stranger to lots of miles, so what the heck!

If I make it to SCR8, I`ll plan that trip more carefully to make the most out of it.

Peter told me about the Pure Stock racing in Michigan when we were talking in the pits. But my plane leaves sept 16 so I couldn`t make it.

Rita, I will read the article in the Motion-Pontiac catalog when I`m sitting in the plane. I didn`t realise it was your car until Greg told me.

The guys in Chicago told me I had to take Interstate 90 to Niagara Falls, but I didn`t know that Ashtabula was so close to it. Like I said Mark, if I make it to SCR8, I will plan more carefully.

Just got to the apartment after having been to a cruise-night on Berlin turnpike in New Britain. Met Steve (CTChevelle) there and had a great time. Steve didn`t have his Deuce with him, but the #3 Deuce under Vintage Supercar Photos was there. The Fathom blue from Scuncio.
Great looking car. And the owner likes to drive it.

This evening we went to Mark`s Classic cruise in Granby CT. There were a lot of nice cars there. The nicest one in my opinion, was a black COPO 9561 fourspeed car. It was hard to read but a think the tag said 05C, 10 10 paint and X44. It didn`t have spoilers and I believe the VIN started with N647.
The owner told me he bought the car in 1980. It has been sitting in his garage for many years because of a hole or crack in one cylinder, but it was sleeved and is now as good as new. It still has standard size bore.
This car was sold out of Vincenti (I hope it is spelled this way) Chevrolet in Wallingford CT. He has talked to the salesman that sold the car in -69. He told him that Vincenti only got two COPO`s to sell, because they were a "small" dealer. It was this Camaro and a Chevelle.
