That's my neck of the woods Don, but can't say I've ever heard of them. I'm assuming they've been out of business for years. I'll keep my eyes open for you.

Good question BelAir. The pronunciation is even stranger, Coraopolis is really spoken like "Corry-op-o-lis." Never did understand that one, but it sure is funny to hear out of towners try to pronounce it. Some other interesting PA town names include:
Bala Cynwyd, PA Beaverdale, PA Big Beaver, PA Bird-in-Hand, PA Blue Ball, PA Bottom, PA Buck, PA Burning Well, PA Burnt Cabins, PA California, PA Castle, PA Climax, PA Coplay, PA Corsica, PA Daisytown, PA Deposit, PA East Berlin, PA Economy, PA Egypt, PA Eightyfour, PA Export, PA Fairchance, PA Flourtown, PA Forty Fort, PA Gap, PA Hellam, PA Holland, PA Honey, PA Hop Bottom, PA Indiana, PA Intercourse, PA Jersey Shore, PA Jim Thorpe, PA Jugtown, PA King of Prussia, PA Laboratory, PA Lawn, PA Library, PA Lick Run, PA Limerick, PA Lone Pine, PA Lover, PA Mars, PA Mexico, PA Moon, PA Moon Run, PA Moosic, PA Muse, PA Nanty Glo, PA New Freedom, PA Newfoundland, PA North East, PA Ohioville, PA Paint, PA Peach, PA Plum, PA Railroad, PA Ravine, PA Red Lion, PA Riot, PA Scalp Level, PA Scotland, PA Seven Stars, PA Shannon, PA Slippery Rock, PA Snow Shoe, PA Spry, PA Squirrel Hill, PA Stalker, PA Star Junction, PA Stiltz, PA Sugar Notch, PA Trainer, PA Trooper, PA Wall, PA Walnut Bottom, PA Water Works, PA Wind Gap, PA Wyoming, PA Yukon, PA It looks like Illinois has a few too: Assumption, IL Bible Grove, IL Birds, IL Energy, IL Goofy Ridge , IL Grand Detour, IL Havana, IL Kickapoo, IL Lola, IL Normal, IL Oblong, IL Roachtown, IL Let me guess, BelAir lives just outside of Goofy Ridge. ![]() |

I used to work in Bala Cynwyd. Lived in Media PA at the time (1972-3). Media was Jim Croce's hometown or so I am told...
