Has anyone experienced any success doing a PA title search recently? If so, can you share some tips? Thanks.

I think Pa. used to be one of the best. Need to get in touch with D.O.P in Harrisburg, Pa. Bring it up on the web. I searched my 69 Z/28 back to 1985 when it first came into this state. Good Luck. Sam

Pa dept of transportation purges the records after 10 years. They started this a few
years ago. Some bean counter in Harassmentburg came up with this idea to cut costs. Mark L

That is a shame, because they were pretty good for years. Thanks for the info. Sam

The purging of records has nothing to do with beancounting! It is a common IS practice to purge inactive records, every state does it, as do most corp's.
PA will automatically pull the last titled info from the purged records, you simply have to choose the Title History option, not the Title Search. You need to state your purpose, get it Notorized, and cough up $5. The info can be scarce at times, but the PA DOT is very consistent. Here's the form: http://www.dmv.state.pa.us/pdotforms...rms/dl-135.pdf
