Default Side view mirror decoding (2) 69, 70 or 71?

I've got 2 side view mirrors that were taken off an original 1970 Monte Carlo SS454. I need help in determining which year and application they would be correct for. Both of them are part #3965923 on the inside of the base:

1. The first mirror was off the driver's side door and is coded H-AX-71. I'm guessing the H is August (1971) but I'm not familiar with the AX code?

2. The second mirror was off the passenger's side door and is coded 5 DMI-9. Wouldn't this be too early for a 1970 car (May 1969)?

They are both chrome rectangular shape.

The car was in a couple of accidents so I'm guessing the dealer or the body shop put these on as replacements. I'm also not sure why the LH and RH would be the same part number?
