A suffix of C is either a 57 265 with a manual 3 speed trans, or a 1958 or 1960 283 either with a manual transmission. Both had 2 barrel carbs and the '58 had 185 HP, the '60 had 170 HP.
The 3756519 casting was used from 58 to 62 and has a 2 bolt main. Need to find the casting date to figure out if it's a 58 or 60 283. |

Thnx Mark....is this stuff on the web someplace??? or do you have a book you are referencing...I will flip it around tomorrow to figure out the year...I found a '57 4bbl intake there to..motor for sure was a 2bbl when born??? I was hoping you would tell me it was a dual 4bbl motor..lol.
the oil pan on the motor has that long sump... kinda looks like a early vette pan...did the standard 283's run this kind of pan back then??? |
