Unfortunately, trademark and copyright infringement is not a criminal offense, so the scenario with the guy in handcuffs is not likely. Joel would have to sue him in civil court and seek damages, and or injunctive relief. He would get no help from the police, district attorney, or justice department. Lynn |

Here in New York it's a criminal offense. In my town last summer, we had a man trying to sell bogus "Movado" watches and bogus "Coach" handbags to pedestrians walking on the sidewalk. One of our local store owners call the Police. After the Police did their investigation, this guy was arrested and was criminally charged with copyright and trademark related charges. Each State's laws on this topic differ.
