This one seems a little strange to me.

02C = third week of Feb. 1967 build.
67 12437 = '67 coupe.
LOS24297 = assembled in LA.
760-Z = black bucket seats.
- - = special paint.
E = all tinted glass.
L = fold down rear seat.
group 2
L = 4 speed.
G = front console.
R = rear speaker.
group 3
S = Z23 interior decor group.
D = courtesy lamps.
L = RS equipment.
group 4 (This is the confusing one)
L = Z/28.
K = L78.
group 5
Y = deluxe seat belts.

Wow, that's kind of confusing. I didn't think any of the L78 cars had the 4K on the trim tag until the April time frame. So I would lean towards this car being a Z28 with the 4L and maybe the K originally meant another option. That's a really strange tag. Do you know if the car has the small block or big block heater box?

Z28/L78 Dont think so
Paint code is wrong for a 67 Should be O for special paint the - - was not used until 68/69

Decode for body number: 024297

LOS = Built in Van Nuys California.
760 = Standard Black Bucket Seats.
Z = (A50) Strato Bucket Seats (without headrests).
No paint code was given.
S = internal plant scheduling code.
Options:
1E = (A01) Tinted All Glass
1L = (A67) Fold-down rear seat
2L = (M21) 4-speed floor shifter
2G = (D55) Console front compartment
2R = (U80) Speaker rear
3S = (Z23) Interior Decor group
3D = (U29) Courtesy Lamp
3L = (Z22) Rally Sport Package
4L = (Z28) 302
4K = Cannot have more than one engine option.
5Y = (A39) Belts All Deluxe

Me and some friends were talking and I remembered a story I heard years ago. Something about Robert Stempel, an Exec at GM, he wanted one of the new camaro Z/28's but would only drive big block cars. He also wanted it painted in his 10 year old daughter Barbaras favorite Royal Blue color. This car was, if real, in the Detroit Bloomfield Hills area... Maybe this is the car?? anyone know a way to research this??

Buy the car, figure it out later.... Tag is real, look at the color of the sealer near the rivets, fonts are correct. Roger

O.K.....a while back there was a lunatic that hung out here and provided me with a wonderful image of monkees in the Belair I owned at the time...well it seems this guy was out of circulation for a while and apparently working on his Photoshop skills !!! Man he is good...but I figured if I let this go any longer you people would track me down and crucify me !! This thing looks so real that I can't see any indication of it being played with...man what a car it would be though....now fess up mystery guest !!!!
