Latex weatherstrip question

I was just curious, has anyone tried out the new Latex door and roof rail weatherstrip that Heartbeatcity is selling? If so, how does it compare to the original GM stuff? I have not been impressed with previous repro weatherstripping but maybe this new stuff will be the answer.

Finally. I was asking the Metro folks if they were working on Latex ones and they said no because there was no need for it. I told them their current stuff is too hard. They didn't believe it and said there would be too many regulations to use Latex. He then said I probably didn't have Metro on my car. I took him over to my car and he said it was indeed his but it looked like they put the wrong ends on. They sent me a new set. Now I will probably just try the latex.

..I just read over at nasty Z..the guys were liking the metro stuff as it seemed to fit well around the critical window area and doors...

Is this stuff exclusive to Jim @ HBC? I bought some door latex W/S's earlier this year made by OER. The OER stuff was pretty good (not perfect) but close enough. I have sold most of my NOS Camaro weatherstrips as it really is just much too valuable to use.

[/ QUOTE ] I agree Bill, but I think a big part of what drives the prices on NOS weatherstrip is the fact that there just doesn't seem to be any available alternative if you want your doors to fit and shut properly. Has anyone actually held this latex stuff in their hands? Does it have that shiny outer 'skin' on it like the original GM stuff? I think a lot of restorers would happily welcome a new w/s manufacturer to the marketplace if there stuff is at all like the soft and squishy original GM stuff.

I purchased the latex door W/S made by OER and at that point I decided to sell the remainder of my NOS door stuff. The texture and feel is pretty good, the contour at the ends where it goes into the window is OK at best. I have not seen the roofrail strips. I purchased the OER stuff as I was salvaging a really nice pair of original W/S' from the car I was working on.
