I have been following the trial of Saddam. I was curious to see what others feel about Ramsey Clark being involved in this. I have a hard time understanding why a former US Attorney General would want to even come to the aid of such a unscrupulous, low life, POS like Saddam.
Even more baffling is Saddam's acceptance of Clark's offer of representation. For years he called Americans evil and compared us to the devil, yet he is looking for one now to save his A$$. I am not trying to start a thread that bashes all lawyers, but for the life of me I can not understand why Ramsey Clark would even do this.
His place in American Political history will be forever tarnished. We send hundreds of thousands of brave men and women to go over there to fight and risk their lives to liberate the Iraqi people from this dictator only to have someone, who once held a very important office, go over and defend this POS.
I am aware of Ramsey Clark's past history since the early 60's and what he has done, both the good and the bad. However, I just don't understand this. I would hope Ramsey Clark finds a new country to reside in when all this is over. IMHO, this man has turned his back on his country and all the brave men & women who have fought and those who have died( God Bless them and the families they left behind) trying to make Iraq a better place.
