Default Help decode this engine stamp is this a LS6

i believe it says to313crr

1970 Chevelle LS-6 454/450Hp engine code w/TH400 trans. assembled at Tonawanda assembly plant on March 13th,1970.

The seller indicated that he would accept a "buy it now" offer, so you'd better hurry. You should find out the casting date of the block, because I have seen the "CRR" stamping on '71 and '72 blocks in addition to '70.

COPO's correct. Here's the stamping on my LS6, a warranty replacement engine sold by Berger in 72.

"TO417CRR, C 27 72, casting #:3999289 GM 9 T"
