Only a matter of time. You can weld this right into place on your new kit car 69 camaro. There you go!

I know it sounds bad, but that would be the best way to retag a car. No rivet issues, and not many would look for a hidden weld seam away from the tag. Not condoning it in any way, I'm firmly against it. But something to keep an eye out for.

This particular tag is not an issue. CRG has it already. Also pics of it when the tag was seperate from the firewall at one time.

IMO this could very well have been a fake $275 tag on a junk piece of tin. Quite a profit....

I think a little research will prevent a problem. Don't the Camaro guys know the relationship between the VINs and the body numbers?

You know what's amazing, look at the questions individual's are asking regarding vin tags. It's shameful. Can you say FELONY ?

There isn't any in 69. The body number is the GM order number assigned when the order was accepted. GM could have built the car the next day, or 3 months later depending on the availability of components. As a result body number jump all over the place when compared to the VINs.

The tag mentioned in this thread is real, and it went thru Ebay about a year ago, and it didn't have a chunk of firewall attached to it then.
