Follow Up on 69z w/ POP (EBAY)

Last week I put the gold 69z on Ebay for auction. I have read alot of speculative comments about this car. I believe that this is rightfully so with the industry breeding alot of quote"numbers matching cars", that are bogus. I also believe that this site is good for the industry in the sense that it gives experts like most of you a chance to police the industry and for newcomers like myself to learn the ins and outs of running a trustworthy, respectable muscle car business.For that, I thank you for teaching me a few things.

Tomorrow I will run this car in a new auction that will clearly show that this car is a true restored z28 WITH POP.
I have recieved the protecto plate and I believe that it is a REAL POP. In fact, it is still glued to the original warranty card.

Learning from one of your peers, I will show all of the proper identification numbers that will show that this car has the original engine that came with it from the factory.The POP also tells me that this car has had the transmission and rearend replaced in it at some point.Neither number is on the POP.This car was originally sold in California(making sense since this is a LA car).

One gentelman said that he had the car in his registry and that it had been in Minnesota and that it had a different stamp date on the block. This car may have very well been in Minnesota at one time but the POP contradicts the statement as having another engine in it.The BIG mistake that I made was running this auction without having the POP in my hands. This will not happen again.

My family and I have other businesses that would not survive without our focus being on integrity, honesty and
the goal of giving our customers the best customer service we can provide . We plan to run this one the same way.

If someone in this area would like to come and look at the car I would be more than happy to make the arrangements. I hope that this will clear up a few questions and if it has not, please feel free to call me.

I would appreciate any feedback from anyone that will respond to this long drawn out statement. I am always someone that likes to learn from people who have been there and done that.

Nick, they have been faking POP's for 20 years and many of us know how to spot a fake one - so the POP alone will not prove much to many out there. Post pics of the engine stamping and POP here and I am sure you will get a number of comments on whether they are the real deal or not.

Thanks for your comments. Be sure to watch Ebay tomorrow afternoon and you can check it out for yourself. If it is a fake, then the guy I bought if from did a hell of a job forging it.

Well said Mark! A original car should stand on its own merits via unmolested stampings, casting and date codes which are hard to fake to a trained eye.

Unless the original POP and paper documentaion is 'bullet-proof' - I question it.

All I can tell you is that this car was in Minnesota and it had an engine in it that was stamped on the front pad V0501DZ. In your auction it has V1127DZ on the pad. The car did not have it's original engine when it was in Minnesota.

I went back to your original auction and see the pic posted of the clean pad. It looks pretty good to me. I wish I would have been more thorough with my database. I never thought I would ever have to prove anything.... I would also like to see a pic of the POP. The engine build and casting date are 21 days apart.
