Any tips on painting the 5 spoke SS wheels?, have the stencil kit, low quality to say the least. Any other method besides "hand painting" for hours (they still look far from factory). To me, it looks like the factory used a cup/cover of some sort that went over the black/gray center sections and blew the silver around that.? Any help is appreciated.

I don't like the stencil kit.I tried it,and it is not reliable or accurate to how they were really done.
I used a roll of masking tape and my two hands with much better results. The borders were never perfect,as there was overlap. Try painting the entire rim the silver tone first, then tape that over and hit the inserts with the dark grey shade..NOT BLACK. |

Ive restored quite a few sets of these wheels. I've never used a stencil kit.
I paint the silver first, then lay out wide masking tape over the silver areas surrounding the grey inserts, making sure to get the tape down in the crevices well. Then use a fresh razor blade to trim. dave
