A couple of sweethearts on eBay, both Mk. 1V cars w/ orig. paint. . That Bel-Air is deadly! .

There is no mention if the black car was a orig 396 car or a 4 speed car.

Good point Charley....I guess I was blinded by love again? . It sounds like it has the F41....at least now anyway? . Although needing scrutiny on the originality factor, I really like it! .

The picture doesn't show the trim tag well enough to read, however, if it has an L (M20)or a Q (M21,M22) that would at least indicate that it was an original 4 speed car.
I love that "clock" delete in the dash! Paul

The Bel Air looks like it doesn't have the F41 package going by the photos. The one picture that shows the mufflers and one rear wheel should also show part of the rear sway bar. It's not there. They may be misinformed. There's some odd wire routing going on that I wonder about. The ad is a little vague. For a car with such low milage it has been more modified that I would think.
![]() The Caprice is something that I wouldn't mind having for more of a driver thing. The air conditioning issue is something that would have to be rectified since it appears to have the factory Comfortron system. It was very troublesome. Replacing it with a factory 4-Season system might be the way to go.

Well, I didn't buy the Caprice. But I finally got an answer from the Bel Air owner after a 2nd request. I asked for pics of the cowl tag, the rear axle and the VIN pad on the engine, plus inquired about any paperwork. All his reponse was "this is not a numbers matching car". If you're looking for an original car this may not be for you.
