Geezers at the Grove this Sat.
Just mentioning that Maple Grace Dragway in Mohnton, Pa (near Reading) has their "old time drags" event this Sat. Gates open at 11. Eliminations at 4pm, so they'll be running in the evening. When's the last time you saw a front engine dragster run in the dark?
 I'll be bringing my unrestored anniversary gold '63 Impala for display. Should be a LOT of really neat cars there.  Just thought I'd mention it for all the old farts out there. .....Wait a minute, I'm talking about myself!!!!

Brings back lots of memories from our strip since our main venue was Tuesday night racing. Even though the HP on those old cars are limited by fuel pumps, they still put on a Helluva show. Verne, was your car at the first NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in BG? I swear there was one there just like you describe. And BTW, if being around during the Musclecar Heyday and witnessing these things during their original glory makes me an Ol' Fart, then I'll wear the title PROUDLY!

I've actually never been to Bowling Green. I did attend the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in '98 when it was in Columbus, OH, but I drove the '62 '09 car out there for that.
The old '62 never looked better! Wait a minute.....is there a car in that picture???  The last time I had the gold '63 out in public was a few years ago in Bldg T at the GM Nats at Carlisle. There's an old buried thread on it here somewhere. But in '98 I also drove that car out to Indy for a convention.  From one old fart to another.......and GLAD of it!
