i am no dist expert by any means. i don't remember ever seeing a point cover like that? it almost looks like something for a marine engine, or military use? dennis

Nope, they are original... it has been discussed here before... most were thrown away the first time the points were replaced.

I bought a set that were like new. I paid 40 bucks for them, but I always pay too much for the junk I buy.

I paid $50 over 4 years ago for an NOS set. I have seen them sell for $75-$100 many times since.

I remember removing them when I worked at my cousins Sunoco Station in the early 70's. He always said to me "Don't lose those screws." Don't remember if those covers were slotted or not? I guess they were a static thing?

Charley. There was a set on e-bay about three weeks ago that closed without a bid. No reserve and I think starting bid was either 9.99 or 19.99.
I looked at it but said bad enough we have to have everything that can be seen dated and original GM. When they start checking under dist caps time to quit.
