I am!

Whatever you do, DO NOT even so much as crack a joke about it while at an airport. I witnessed a guy get pulled out of line at some po dunk airport in Kentucky for simply making a one liner joke about pilots and drinking. The airplane was a small one with only about 50 passengers.

Apparently, they don't cotton to a large bag of brown sugar in you carry-on either! That set off all kinds of detectors..funny thing is, though, they didn't find it until the return trip?

I just found out the other day they will not allow you to go through security with wrapped gifts either. Wouldn't you think the X-ray machine would point out anything suspicious?

OK, now you have to explain why you travel with a large bag of brown sugar. Is it a good luck charm or a security blanket?

Blame it on the wife...she's an elementary school teacher, and the day before we left she had made apple cider in her class...welp, she decides she's gonna do some of her upcoming lesson plans and such on the plane, so she used her school bag as her carry-on...and sure enough, we toted a pound or so of brown sugar to Vegas and back! At the Vegas airport on the way home that bag set off all kinds of sensors/alarms, and got the full swab treatment...

Our daughter flew in for the Holidays. She left Ohio mid-morning on the 21st and was to land in Des Moines via Chicago before 1PM. AA overbooked her connection in Chicago by 20 passengers! She was put on standby for the next flight and didn't make it. She was then given a seat on a flight scheduled to depart at 6PM...that flight was cancelled as were all other evening flights due to fog in the Chicago area. Long story short...I drove (in the fog)5 hours each way to pick her up. They said due to Holiday traffic they couldn't get her on a flight for possibly 2 days. Left at 7PM that night and returned at about 6AM the next morning. AA should feel proud of themselves....overbooked by 20 people. What other business can get by with these kind of shenanigans? They gave her a $250 travel voucher....woopdedoo.

We are thankful that we were able to have her home for the Holiday unlike others that were not as lucky.
