Did anyone watch the HBO special about the first Super Bowl that was on last night? As MVP of the game, Bart Star received a 1967 Corvette Roadster. The car looked as if it was silver/black with red line tires, rally wheels, and sidepipes. Definitely a small block car, I would imagine a 350 horse due to the sidepipes. Sidepipes 300 horse cars are extremely rare. It had to be a four speed car as sidepipes could not be ordered with base motor and automatic and the 350 horse motor could only be ordered with a manual transmission.
Anyone know where that car is today? Quite a rare piece if it is around. |

Bart Starr was and remains a spokesperson for The Ranch in Menomonee Falls WI. They are a non-profit organization for troubled teens that repairs donated cars. I believe he donated it to them and it is still there.

Sorry if I'm highjacking this thread; but on the subject of Super Bowl cars, I have a tape of the original NBC broadcast of Super Bowl III. On that tape it shows the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T ultimately awarded to Joe Namath as MVP. I believe it was bronze with black tail stripe. Very cool stuff.

I'd pay handsomely for a videotape of SuperBowl I.
