Re: What's the rarest car you have ever owned??
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
'69 Z-28 camaro factory 4 spd race car, ordered from nickey chevrolet where they swapped the original dz302 for 427& a M-22. the car came a factory "white" car all stripped down (no radio or accesories ect). from nickey it went to bill jenkins for a roll bar (he was involved with SRD chassis then) and suspension mods (leaf floaters & rear end stuff). it ran here in PA undeer the name "the dilly bar" , the owner had a dairy queen stand. he ran it till @ 72 then sold it and it sat. I found it in a barn and bought it for $2000 with it's last racing history still painted on it, joe lepone jr and jenkins competition on the hood and fenders.
the car still had the original gold "certificate or origin" from nickey chevy, it was never titled only raced the original odometor had 175 miles on it. i was gonna restore it but didn't have the correct 427/trans or the money at the time so I sat on it for a few years and reluctantly sold it for $3500 as a roller with history and paperwork. the car has since been restored as a factory nickey race car and has even won it's class out at hershey.
wish I had it now .
Sam, what do you know about this one
