Default carb ?

What is the application for 3310 3878261 EH holley carbs? Colvin's shows 65 375hp Z16, but I've seen these with much later date codes than 65. I'd think the EH would be application specific, but the dates are all over the place. What's the story?

Holley made billions and billions (as Carl Sagan would say) of "universal" over the counter 3310's with Ford transmission kickdown linkage and Chevy throttle arms. Some have secondary metering blocks, some have secondary metering plates. Only the ones with 5XX dates are really 1965 396 carbs, the rest are Holley built clones.

So then the EH doesn't mean anything if it's not 5xx? I'd think they'd leave off the EH or use a over the counter code. Seems kinda unnecessarily confusing.
