Default How many of you have ever thought ............

One of my many vices is collecting old car magazines. I find myself getting very intrigued by the classifieds from BITD. Anyone, besides me, ever contemplated calling on that $2500 BB <insert vehicle here> to see if by chance it's still around ?? I know .... I'm a fruitcake.

Ask Chad about that. He went through a bunch of old NCOA Chevelle newsletters as well as old magazines and called hundreds of people. Yes some of them STILL had their cars that they had listed and were now interested in selling. One just never knows.

I've done the same before too but looking for old racing snowmobiles and parts.. Often changed numbers and/or people long passed away but sometimes a jackpot including leads to other finds besides the original advertised items...make sure to have pen and paper in hand when you call!.

I love old magazines . I like the classifieds they use to have in the backs of some of them. I have one with a for sale ad of a 69 Motion Camaro and another with a for sale ad for a Motion prepped 69 Nova . Both have been dead ends so far. Old car magazines are great, they even have a great smell

Yes Casey, I have! I love to surf my stacks of old car magazines. It's better than TV most nights. This thread gave me the idea to start one with old classified ads from '60s HRMs.

I have a similar situation here and have started to make an inventory list of each issue/item.It's taking me much longer then I anticipated because I want to be very thorough.
Sometimes I just stop due to fatigue, but return to it later on as I feel it can only save time in the long run.
