Default A.R.C. 2500 CAR RECORD PLAYER

[b] Does anyone remember these?
I just saw this on E-bay and it brought back some great memories!
Back in the mid sixties when your music choices were 4 track tapes or AM radios, these were IT!
I had this same unit in my '66 Impala - the car was set up high as hell and rock solid like the gassers of the day. The ride was stiff and you knew where all the bumps were - but the record player rarely skipped a beat.
You could put up to ten 45's upside down on the hanging spindle. The tone arm would play the bottom of the record. When the song finished the record would drop down to the bottom of the case. Installation was a power wire and then there was a plug that you put in the antenna receptacle of the radio. Then your antenna would plug into it. The unit would then play through a preset on your radio.
You could set the mood in your car as you liked - assorted songs and no commercials.
If anyone remembers AM radio - it was the worst. You could get three good rock & roll radio stations out of NYC and one out on the island. They all broke every half hour for five minutes of news. So twice an hour you would be punching the buttons like mad to no avail!
A 4 track tape would only have two different songs at a time and there was no fast forward button.
This unit was a life saver - you'd carry your box of 45's, a cold six pack and be set for the night.
(Everyone does know what a '45 is - right??)
