Default 14X7 XT STEEL WHEEL COLOR

I think this topic may have been discussed recently within the last few months, but I wanted to be certain. I recently acquired a set of nos 1970 full wheel covers/hubcaps for my 70 Nova SS car. I plan on alternating these between the steel wheels & dog dish caps I currently have on the car and a set of Cragar SS mags that I also have. I acquired another set of correct steel wheels that are black and was wondering if the wheels were painted body color irregardless whether they were receiving the dog dish caps or full hubcap/wheel covers. I think that they were because I have a picture from the GM Media Archives that shows a 1970 SS Nova small block car with the style hubcaps I have and it appears that the wheels are painted body color but it is tuff to tell for certain. You can only see the outside edge of the wheel with the full hubcap on. The other media pictures show non SS, base model Novas with the same hubcaps and I can tell for certain that the steel wheels are black colored and not body color.

Thanks Rich
