I'm sure they buy from the bottom of the barrel.. unless thery are a sub of a major oil co...Roll the dice and take your chances. A good friend of mine builds service stations and installs/removes all the equipment....There's huge quality differences from what I've been told...

May have been just a coincidence, but a friend of my wife's buys her gas at a particular WM in our area (the ONLY place she buys gas, every Sat when she goes grocery shopping), and both of their cars had to be towed in dead for bad gas within a two-week period... and the WM guys were certain that it wasn't them!

Guys, theres only so many refineries in the USA, gotta belive that much of the gas comes from the same place?

Now the additives may be different. I have seen gas truck loading up a name brand gas station, then going across the street to a mom and pop gas station and loading them up as well........

WM gas comes from China, like most of their products. Maybe on the trip over from the Orient it gets more condensation in the tanks than other brands. Hey, I wait in the gas line for as long as it takes just to save .03 a gallon. Sometimes that adds up to maybe .60 to .70 a tankful! I am NO fool!

Wow...Wally gas, what next?.
Wasn't the station Gomer and Goober worked at called Wally's? .

So what are you guys at for gas these days?.
I paid more here yesterday than I think I ever have at 1.09 per litre..
At today's $ exchange, that's the equiv. of about $4.15 US$ per US Gallon!.

I wonder if the guys in Venezuela are paying 15 Cents a friggin' gallon yet...seriously!.

The Murphy Oil Refinery is here in Louisiana. It's the one that had the tanks leak during Katrina. I grew up within 5 miles of there. If that's where they get their gas, it's not from China, and several other "brands" are refined there as well. I suspect that there is less difference between brands then we think........

And this line from the web site shows that

"These terminals, along with numerous third-party terminals, provide fuel supply to retail and branded wholesale stations throughout 23 states."

And this:
"The Company, headquartered in El Dorado, Arkansas, was originally incorporated in Louisiana in 1950 as Murphy Corporation. It was reincorporated in Delaware in 1964, at which time it adopted the name Murphy Oil Corporation. But, the Company's roots go back to a lumber and banking business in South Arkansas and, more directly, to 1907, when the first oil production was established in the Caddo Field in North Louisiana. Thereafter, oil and gas were important phases of the business. Until the mid 1930's however, oil and gas remained subordinate to timber operations and banking. "

Nothing chinese from that, as much as I'd love to bash wall mart, this gas, if Murphy, is good ol USA.
