Default Not American muscle... but cool cars and good pics

I know, aside from Colin and myself, there are not too many road racing fans who hang out here. However, I have been attending the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal since 1995. A World class event, with incredible atmosphere, cars and all types of sights and sounds. Thought I would share a few of the more general interest type photos here. It was truly a target rich environment for a phototgrapher.

And for those who don;t get Forumla 1
try this...........the average car on the grid can do 0-150-0 in under 7 seconds.

Enjoy

Always like a flyover by a precision team....this is the Canadian Snow Birds!

Race takes place on an Island built for the world expo. (notice the Biosphere)
Easy access from the Metro, Parks, lakes, a Casino........incredible setting

one of 3 support races...The Ferrari challenge......like the Gulf livery of this one

the cars

Plenty of Ferarri fans

Was very lucky and got a Mclaren garage tour only to have the young stud world Championship contender Lewis Hamilton show up.

yes I was really there

BMW a winner.....

What happened to Ferrari and the reigning World Champ

Not sure which team she follows?

My buddy Dave is on the right in the shades, this is walking the Island to the seats

The Casino and lake near my seats

Probably 30k people in my turn alone. It is the largets single day sporting event in Canada. 300k for the 3 days and over 122k for the race!!

But it's the fans that make it..

I say we have a new contender for the headlight Photographer of the Year award. I have yet to get my camera out to the upcoming car shows so don't count me out yet......

I don't know anything about Forumla 1 cars - but something is very appealing!

I got some pictures from someone who used to watch golf but now watches tennis. I can't post them here.

Those headlights are much brighter than the ones in any NASCAR infield !!

Got'em Chris. Thanks! All I can say is 2 out of 4 aint bad! However, in order for you to win the contest, you must be the photographer.

Definitely a winner. I can see you with that trophy already......

I thought Canadian Health Care sucked but that random sampling of everyday "Canadaicana" shows they are indeed very healthy.....Did someone mention something about Formula 1 cars??

Seriously, thanks for sharing
