Default Syclone CLUNKER how sad

How sad to see some of the cars and trucks that will be sent to the junk pile. I took a few pictures but we have a few hundred in our storage lot and counting. CLUNKER PICTURES

Am I missing something. the syclone is worth way more than 4500 bucks so why would someone trade it in as a clunker?

I saw a few Impala SS's on TV here.

Just like most government programs, this one sux.

And, I thought this was a plan to improve the sales of domestic auto makers, and if so, why are most of the higher sales by foreign automakers?

Great job again, government.

I am trying to save the Syclone at this time, the paperwork on the GT Mustangs was to far gone and the red one was very nice car. We have started to get checks in and the paperwork flow is much better that in the beginning. Like anything new it takes some time to get it right. Keep in mind this flow of cars will stop very soon due to people that want to buy but cannot get financed as well as the shrinking dealer inventory. If you order a demostic car customer a new car it will take as long as 4 to 8 weeks in normal times but we are not in normal times so it should take alot longer. I see loaded haulers taking cars and trucks out of the storage area daily now and man its sad, the good news it will make the ones that survive worth more just as the cars we collect today have.

SWEET! Hopefully it can be saved.

I'm sure that you have already talked to my Louisville Sy/Ty buddies up there. They are some great guys.If there is ANYTHING that we can do to help save Syclone #2076,or pieces of it,just let me know.

Just for shits and giggles, let me part this truck out:

Seats $200

Center console/shifter/shifter cable $350

Gauge cluster/housing $300

ECM and engine wiring harness $250

Upper/lower intake manifolds with injectors and fuel rail $700

Exhaust manifolds w/turbo $400

IC system $400

Cladding $3000

engine/trans/TC Lets say $500 core prices.condition unknown.

Off the top of my head, not counting S10 body panels,I got $5100 in parts. If it runs good and with 66k it's worth $7500 all day long.

Wow! And most people are getting screwed by paying sticker price on their new car in order to get the $4500 clunker trade in. Another huge waste of taxpayer money.

[/ QUOTE ]Man that is crazy. The front bumper is worth about a grand.

Can you get me any more info on the truck? Like the last 4 of the VIN,and if there is any way to salvage any of the rare and unobtainable parts off it before it gets turned into a Hyundai?

I wish there had been an amendment that would have excluded collectable or high horsepower vehicles from this law. I know the Govt doesn't care about them at all but when the attrition rate has allready claimed hundreds or thousands of these cars and trucks it is a sad thing to thing that more of them get killed off for this failed program... I am sure there are 454SS trucks headed to the back lots right now as well as Buick Grand nationals and more Syclones and Typhoons.....
