Default DYNO - 06 Vette TT, 02 SS 427 LSX Turbo

My brother asks if I want to go watch some dyno pulls with the rebuilt engine in his friends 2002 SS Camaro.

We get there and they are putting a 2006 Vette with a Hawk TT kit. Alcohol and water injected as well.

Then the Camaro

That's insane. It looks like they just swapped the stock OEM exhaust manifolds backwards for plumbing the turbo.

It was all fab'd by the owner, this was his daily driver and did a little then it got wilder and wilder. Previous top HP# was 1112HP, changed the turbo to a larger exhaust, and rebuilt the engine(had 150 passes on it) and the first pull was 1370 on 18#boost. Then 1407, then 1414 on 23#.

Bruce - The owner, tuner/engine/car builder, is moving to Arizona after the first of the year.

What was the guy holding onto in the engine compartment?
Wouldn't want my face that close to the action.

Brian the owner of the shop, JAP automotive, (811 hp 4 cyl Nissan 240 5 sec 1/8's) holding the optical pickup for the dyno. When the car jumped it came off in mid pull.

This is the highest HP by far the dyno has seen, the blow through on the carb keeps an awesome 10.8 a/f mixture the whole pull. Chris (Camaro owner) is great on the calibration of the fuel curves and tricking the injectors into lowering the a/f ratio and then tweaking it through the RPM range, if they lean out you can hang it up...

ALL I KNOW IS THERE is a chassis dyno less than 2 miles from me door to door!!!
