Saw this unusual rare find 1970 Malibu convertible for sale. Here's the link:

I currently own a 1969 Camaro SS350. Although the original drivetrain is long gone, this 4/speed car has a March '69 HC coded block with #041 heads. The transmission is an M20 Muncie #660 case and the rearend is a BS coded 12 bolt posi. Built in Van Nuys. |

With a 307 engine, that car should have a Saginaw in it. Strange that it got a Muncie.

RPO M20 doesn't mean "Muncie". As far as I know, it was just the RPO code for "4-speed (wide ratio)". GM decided what trans to use based on the engine. In this case, it probably is a saginaw. |

In this case, it probably is a saginaw. </div></div> I would agree with this perspective...many Nova build sheets list M-20...that merely told the Fisher Body boys they needed to cut a hole in the floor for a manual tranny...not sure if this carries over to Chevelle docs...but, I can tell you that one of my hotrod buddies from back in the day had a similar car and it had a Saginaw "iron case gear selector"...you guys can take it from there. wilma

What equipment/combo makes it a 1 of 1? Nice car but I wonder what it looked like before the resto. I think it would be worth more unrestored.

All small blocks got Saginaw's. Only big blocks got Muncies.
