69 Nova SS L78 valuation
Hello All,
I have been considering buying a 69 Nova SS L78 car. All original drive train, Jerry McNeish certified original drive train front to rear. Turbo 400 tranny, column shift mechanically very good, 38,000 original miles supposedly but there is no documention on the car. All engine components are numbers correct. Engine appears to never have been taken apart/rebuilt. Body is very good, no accidents with one repaint, maroon. no rust through and underneath is very very clean front to rear. Car has been stored since early '90's but has been kept in running condition. All original glass except for the windshield, some windows do have noticeable scratches. Scratched glass for me is a bad thing. Car has aluminum factory window trim and side body trim strips. Original correct date coded wheels, maroon, with chevy dog dish caps, no re-pops. Chrome is nice. Runs and drive nice with new exhaust all the way back. 4:11 gears. I have never had an automatic muscle car, always 4 speeds so I am not sure if resale would be an issue with this car being an automatic on the column. I have read a number of comments and various site postings praising a car like this with the TH400 in it. No power steering. Interior is in good condition with new rubber mat floor covering. Asking price is $56K. I have talked to many guys about this car concerning a fair price with Feed back ranging from $35K to $45K. McNeish paperwork valued this car at $50-$60k. Which seems high to me. But what do I know. Any comments concerning my request for your opinion would be greatly appreciated ASAP. Thank you Joe |

Pictures would be a big help in determining a valuation.

No documentation and column shift hurts. Sounds like a neat car but not every shoppers first choice. My guess would be 40ish.
