None were built in Canada. The numbers of COPO Chevelles sold in Canada range from 13 to 30 depending on who you talk too. I'd lean more toward the 30 number.

George Z. says in 1969,only 201 w/model #13637 were exported into Canada.
No breakdown of COPO production. Right now thats as close as the manufacturer can get,but I agree with Keith T. |

The 13637 just indicates Malibu hardtops. They could be straight Malibus, SS396s, or COPO. Here in Ontario, all the COPO and L78 cars seem to have come from the Baltimore plant. The 201 might be combined L78 and COPO although I would think that there were more L78 cars than that.

Fred Nolan bought a green one that had a British Columbia protecto-plate I believe. There really wasn't any problem ordering one of these cars........as long as you knew that they were available. Our dealer didn't know what we were talking about until he was given the COPO numbers. It's obvious now that quite a few dealers up here sold them. Yenko got his cars early enough but up here it was July and August, supposedly due to a shortage of aluminum intakes to build the engines. Lame excuse because our engine is date coded T0402MQ. Perhaps Yenko was given a little head start. Who knows. Just glad we bought our car and kept it.
