Default Anyone know of BMW Clubs or websites?

Well... after 205,000 miles and almost 18 years of daily driver service we sold our 1987 BMW 528E to a gentlemen in PA who was going to use it as a doner car for his restoration project. These cars hold up! If it were not for a sun roof leak that turned the entire interior into a greenhouse, we would have kept the car.

If anyone knows of any BMW clubs or websites, location throughout the US is not important-- please post them here. I would like learn more about the car that we just ended an 18 year love affair with. Thanks guys!

They have a forum there, too!

Well, I see the responses weren't near as sarcastic as the ones about the Toyota 4Runner club request.

Best bargain in the car hobby is to join the BMW CCA. A one year membership includes 12 issues of the Roundel, a first class magazine. As a member you can place two ads a month in the classifieds for free. Also gets you into the local chapter, so you will get their newsletter regularly as well. A bargain for $40.

Between my brother and I (including cars we got for our kids) we have owned over 35 BMW's. My daily driver is a 745i, but not the big clunker with the giant butt they sell now. Mine is an old factory turbocharged grey market car. Never sold in the US, but quite a few (maybe 500 - no one knows for sure) were brought over privately. There are some really hard core guys at www.745i.com. Most, like me, have modified the stock turbo set up to run increased boost. I realize who I am talking to here, but the little 3.5 liter straight 6 with 15 psi boost has been known to crank out well over 400 hp and 500 lb/ft of torque. Car was definitely ahead of its time. No it won't keep up with Charley's big Mercedes, but then not many daily drivers will.
