Three of these wheels are stamped so that they are legible from the center of the wheel as opposed to the outside. Is that not correct only for the second or third generation of "DF" wheels?

the date stamp looks funny to me, the left to right as well they need to be in a very stright line, which they are not, seem to curve with the wheel. Also alot of time when they stamped the month and day, the get teh centering wrong, and hit the rt side of the hole ...sometimes dropping off part of the day....in any case the distance from the month to the day is always the same and very straight line. I need to check, but some of the K19's have a dash in between the letter and numbs, .. i think (IMO) these are stamped and someone is getting screwed.

Ed,
I was going to post regarding these wheels. They look nothing like the 2/26 dated and other YH wheels I have. The dashes missing, K19 stamps not gang stamped like originals, Y and H different than original, etc. I asked for the lug area stamps and the Kelsey stamp area. Even the letters around the Kelsey stamp area were not right. The Kelsey stamp was also missing in the photo provided. Same seller had a full set of restamped March dated wheels last year. He has gone to private auctions. I'd like to see someone strip the paint off of these. Last year he had "200 of these wheels", now its "more than 300, less than 600", "auctioning wheels since 1975". How can we shut this guy down? Mark |

Not ALL YH wheels have the dashes between the K 1 9. I have earlier and later original YH wheels that do not have dashes, BUT all my Feb. 27/27/27/26/27/ wheels have the dashes.
These wheels also look like they have the small slots, like later YH or FW wheels. ALL pre Sept/69 YH wheels have the bigger irregular shaped slots. TXZS is correct, all my wheels are stamped from the outside. I was hesitant to post this info because of forgerys, but seeing as it has been discussed here as well as on another site, i thought i would ad my .25 worth. I took pictures of my dates, and if some one can post the pictures i will email them to you. Hope this helps. |

I have later '69 built YH wheels that show the non-dash K19 stamp. The stamp is gang stamped tightly with the round edges of the stamp holder visible. This guy is close enough that someone will spend good money for fakes, again! Its getting to the point that some people don't know what the real stuff looks like anymore. Kind of like caution fan stickers!

Are the new repro rally's even stamped at all? Those wheels look like they're new, not old restored wheels. My May YH wheels have the dashes in it.
