I have a question regarding the "Cars For Sale" section. My ebay auction for the GTO that i have for sale was removed because there was "no price listed". Well anyone who has ever been involved in this hobby knows what ebay is all about and how it works. To remove my for sale ad because i would not list a price for the car or reveal the reserve is just rediculous. Some people like to sell their parts locally, some people like to advertise in the local papers or internet, and some people like to list on ebay. To remove some for sale ads not others over a price not being listed in the ad is just not right for the guy who likes to use ebay as a sales option.
I know i am new here but i have been in this hobby for years and anyone who knows me on this site can attest to that. It is just my .02 on this issue. Feel free to comment feel free to bash me just callin it like i see it.

what was your question?
here are the regs posted in the for sale section; All ads MUST include the following: price - ad must include price contact info - whether it be email or phone number Also, I would GREATLY appreciate that ALL members of this bulletin board fill out their profile info with their real name, location, and contact info, but this is imperitive for those wanting to post in the for sale section!" looks like those regs have been there for a few years, I'm new also. When in Rome........... ![]() |

If you want to use ebay, use ebay. Ebay doesn't make you reveal your reserve price, nor list a buy it now price if you don't want to. If you want to list it here, be it an ebay link or a simple for sale ad... it needs a price. It's a simple enough concept for most to understand, and weeds out all the "fishing" expeditions. Bottom line is, you obviously have a price you will sell the car for, so post it. I never really understood why the asking price of a car should be a big secret anyhow, especially if you actually want to sell it.

There are members here list their Ebay auctions with no price listed and nothing is said. The listed rules need to apply to everyone. I asked about this same thing a couple days ago.

if its for sale you have a idea what you want for it, so put a price on it, it's a simple concept, then a guy knows up front if its in his price range or not, and hopefully not waste both parties time.
and people should keep there cake holes shut about a items price unless it is being advertised totally wrong or misleading, let a guys add run in peace. now if your truly going fishing with a item for sale take it to auction and see what happens. I don't prescribe to playing games, price it fair and they will come. ![]() |

I think a rule should also be made that says you can't list a part for sale on someone else's For Sale ad, that is the same type of item for a lesser price.
I won't mention any names, but this happened to me awhile back here. Then my part for sale never even gets a look. |

427.060... Those were all no reserve auctions with the opening bid price listed. To me that means the price is his opening bid or whatever the bidding ends up at. I don't see why anyone wanting to list their item here has a problem with also listing the reserve. As far as I know the request for everything to be priced is preferred by most of the members here.

Charley, thanks for the response but that is not what Belair said a couple days ago when I questioned why he removed an ad for a 70 Corvette. It was a no reserve auction and Belair told the seller to list a price. I asked if a price was required since there was no reserve and was told "yes". The next day the ad was gone. Here is a link to the auction.

<font color="blue">So, what's the big deal.
Put your reserve price .... Put higher than your reserve.... Put "or best offer" .... Just put something & get on with the sale. ![]()
