Converting MP4 vid to something this forum recognizes
I have a vid from my phone that is now on my computer, but it is not recognized by the forum. How do I convert it to one of the recognized formats ?

Handbrake on a PC is my go-to software for this type of task. All kinds of built-in conversions depending on the type of quality and file size you are looking for.

Thanks, but no thanks, Bruce. I have no desire to post anything on youtube.
Handbrake requires a microsoft app I don't have, but I did find another free converter and got it converted to gif. Now it is too large to post and I am trying to find a way to edit it to shorten it, but no luck with that yet. My technical ability is very limited with this stuff and all the editing programs I find online have way more ai stuff than I need or want to download. I just want a way to cut the length of the vid down.

I have it converted to GIF now, Dave, but it is too large. I was looking for an editor program to let me remove sections of the beginning and end, but those all want it in a newer format that I don't see supported in the choices on here.
I'll keep looking. I had other chores to do today...
