Looks like someone ordered a base Corvette. 350/300 and manual trans. Be more fun than an automatic...

I had a guy in my Corvette club with a 67 Vette coupe 427 with a 3 speed. Rare for ALL the wrong reasons...! |

I heard last week that the 3 speed in the corvettes did not have a synchronized first gear. You had to come to a complete stop before you could put the car in first. Can anyone confirm that?

Without doing research on the exact time line, Saginaw made the 3 speeds fully syncro in early to mid sixties, so anything before that, yes, most people had to come to a stop. Double clutching and revving the engine in neutral would bring the trans internal rpm up to slide in first while moving on the early non-syncro trans.

I believe that the M20 or M21 was required with the 427.

----Power steering and T&T column appear to be the only options. If you look close the side scoop trim has been added as well as the right side mirror. Doesn't even have tinted windows!....Bill S
