Default Local Car Show

Had a great day on Saturday for the annual car show in my home town of Mount Joy, PA. This thing gets bigger every year. Great cars and good food! Cars lined both sides of the Main Street for about a quarter mile. I got there right at 10:00 when it started so I could take pictures before the crowd got arrived.

Let's go!

SUSQ on the right. Hey Sam Griffith, recognize the handsome guy on the left?

Here's one of his beauties. Sam, can you add any commentary on this one?

Little SUSQ checks out 427 3x2 paddy wagon.

Camera batteries died almost immediately so I completed the mission with my trusty Treo smartphone. This 4 speed, 442 was nice beyond words!

This 4 speed Bonneville had me drooling uncontrollably If I could pick one from the show, it would probably be this beauty. Stunning!

Nice Charger sported a 383, 4 speed and Hurst wheels.

Sanitary Chevy pickup

Not something you see every day. Cadillac power, I believe.

My next-door neighbor's street rod

Nice big block Camaro

Nice Z. Belongs to the brother of a lady two doors down from me.

Patriotic '57

Another nice Z

Yet another nice Z

Just a sample of the turnout on Saturday. Nice to walk two blocks from my home to a great car show. I'm already looking forward to next year!

Abe - way cool. That's my cousin Bernard! His daughters and I are contemporaries. Think you told me before that you and Sharon went to HS together. Believe he lives just down the street from you (on Park Av.). That is his trusty '48 (possibly '49) Chrysler Town and Country woody convertible. Neat car! He is a Mopar man thru and thru. Also has a big block (440) mid-60s) Dodge Monaco in light yellow that he bought new. Thanks for taking the shot. Mount Joy is a great little town with lots of history. Its been awhile since I have been back. Thanks!!

Glad to do it! Is he the original owner of the Chrysler woody 'vert? She looks dead-on original.

Hey Abe. No, he bought the Woody back in 1990 or so after retiring from Mars Candy. Always liked going to visit cousin Bernard and gettin' the tours of the candy factory!!!

Thanks for the pics, nice cars.

Does anyone here ever go up the New Castle (north of Pittsburgh) for their big show?

Nice pictures! Mt. Joy, I got a ticket in Mt. Joy back in 1970. Said the nova was way to loud. Had GM over the counter chambered exhaust on the 69 SS. Visiting a girl friend at Elizabethtown College. AHHHH those were the days. Young, dumb and full of Thanks Abe!
