Are the rear spring shackles black or bare steel? All of the original that I have seen look bare. Thanks John

Although the NOS ones are bare, I have assembly line photos of suspension sub-assemblies where the rear ends are being assembled and they are black.
BUT I believe Super Car workshop just did a car and the originals were bare steel. SO I guess that is the best non-answer answer I can give...

I don't know about 67-8 cars, but the 69 shackles I've seen were dipped black. I remember the runs during blasting.

Every single 69 I have done the color has been black, BUT the 67 Yenko is NO doubt natural. Could be a vendor or year thing, not sure. I have had one other guy I respect tell me he has seen phosphated one, but I have never seen that finish..BKH
